Robin Beaumont

I am an associate research fellow at the University of Exeter Medical School. I work in the polygenic genetics team looking at the genetics of complex traits. My main interest is in the genetics of birth weight and I am working on several projects, including within the Early Growth Genetics (EGG) consortium.

My background is in mathematics, having completed an MMath and PhD in the mathematics department at the University of Exeter. My PhD thesis looked at the dynamics of the stratospheric polar vortex and the phenomenon of Sudden Stratospheric Warmings. This project developed my skills in high performance computing and big data which I have been able to carry over to my work in genetics.
